POSITION OVERVIEW
 
Bank of Hawaii Bank Associate 
 
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated person who is a self starter with a desire for professional and leadership development, and ready for on-the-job training.

This is a comprehensive training program where you will progress through a rotational development schedule. You will be given exposure to different areas of the bank that works closely with the branches, participate in community service projects, and enhance your networking and leadership skills with the ultimate goal of creating shareholder value.
 
The 6-12 month rotation (starting Summer of 2014) will involve on-the-job-training in the following areas:
 
Branch Rotation
  • Learn about the Bank's products and services
  • Experience various positions within the Branches
    • Teller
    • Branch Concierge
    • Consumer Banking Representative
    • Service Manager
    • Branch Manager
  • Understand how leadership in sales deliver shareholder value
Business Unit Rotations
  • Learn how the Branches interact with other departments of the bank
    • Consumer Lending
    • Consumer Deposits
    • Mortgage
    • Collections
    • Bankoh Client Services
    • Commercial Banking
    • Investment Services
    • Branch Operations
    • Compliance
  • Understand how working with others (internally and externally) will minimize barriers and enhance relationships
 Networking and Professional Development
  • Participate in professional development curriculum
    • Presentation skills
    • Project management
    • Business ethics
    • Working in teams
    • Resolving conflict
    • Performance management
    • Leadership in business

Qualifications

 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education
Bachelor's degree (any major with preference for basic Accounting, Finance, and Business courses) from an accredited college or university, to include course work in Accounting (Financial Accounting) or equivalent work experience. 
 
Technical Skills
Demonstrated PC skills (skills (e.g., word-processing, and spreadsheets, database management, presentation/graphics software, internet, e-mail).
