Job Description for Tawhiri Power LLC Turbine Technician

The Tawhiri Power LLC Turbine Technician will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of GE 1.5 wind turbines per the GE 1.5 Preventative Maintenance Manual. As a prerequisite, the Turbine Technician will have the following GE training courses, including certifications of completion:

Function and Structure of GE 1.5 WTG

Maintenance of a GE 1.5 WTG (Theory)

Maintenance of a GE 1.5 WTG (Practical)

Troubleshooting and Analysis

In addition, the Turbine Technician must have a minimum of 1 year experience working on a GE 1.5 turbine or ½ year experience on other equivalent wind turbine equipment and ½ year working on a GE 1.5 turbine. Any maintenance coursework involving equivalent equipment is a plus.

The Turbine Technician will be trained in the following EHS courses:

First Aid

Personal Protective Equipment

Hazard Communication

Tower Rescue

Confined Space

Lock Out Tag Out

Electrical Safety

Hytorq/Bolt torque

In addition, the Turbine Technician will be trained in and understand site specific EHS requirements.

Qualifications:

• 1 year minimum experience in the repair and maintenance of GE 1.5 wind turbines or equivalent as noted above.
• Willing to be a team player, take direction from the Senior Turbine Technician, Turbine Manager or Plant Manager and/or independent GE contractor, and able to work independently with a minimal of supervision on tasks directly involving turbine maintenance.
• Proficient in the use of PC’s a plus.
• Excellent physical condition a must, no fear of heights, able to climb several hundred feet straight up, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
