Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):
Under general supervision, the Police Clerk & Typist will be assigned to District C-11. Job responsibilities will include: typing reports, letters, memorandums, and other correspondence; data entry; answering telephone inquiries; giving information to the public over the phone; maintaining files and records; addressing and mailing correspondence; and related duties as required.
THE SHIFT FOR THIS POSITION IS 4PM TO MIDNIGHT.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in administrative office work. A minimum of 30 mailable words per minute required. It is strongly preferred that all applicants have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Applicant must have the ability to exercise good judgment and to focus on detail as required by the job.
A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK WILL BE CONDUCTED ON ALL APPLICANTS. A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED. BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.
