JOB SUMMARY:
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
About the Position:
This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located with the 500 MI Brigade, 715 MI Battallion, Office of the S1, Schofield Barracks, HI.
Hawaii has many outdoor all year round activities including surfing, paddling, diving, fishing and hiking. Temperatures range from the high 70s through low 90s for most of the year. Serve as an administrative support assistant in planning and appraising the overall S1 Military and Civilian Personnel Management Program (CPMP). Serve as technical assistant on all military administrative and technical procedures. Establish and maintain databases for tracking personnel strength, vacancies, and Tables of Distribution and Allowances authorizations and requirements. Collect, correlate, and analyze data from these sources for inclusion into recurring reports and statistical data calls. Conduct liaison with Military Personnel Division on outstanding officer evaluation and NCO evaluation issues as well as promotion problems, outstanding personnel actions that have not been resolved in a timely manner. Coordinate with organization to ensure management of the Civilian Employees Incentive Awards Program for the Battalion. Coordinates with originators to obtain additional or clarifying information. Serve as personnel liaison to management, and relay information from the personnel community to management on such subjects as position management, classification, recruitment and staffing, performance management, technical services, training and career development, and management-employee relations. Provide technical assistance to the Commander and subordinate organizations. Provide advice, guidance, and procedures in the utilization of civilian personnel. Assist in the in-processing of all military and civilian personnel. Participate in the administration of civilian personnel management actions consistent with guidelines. Serve as the Safety Officer. Maintains a Safety Program that is in total compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act Programs for Federal Employees, DoD, DA and USAINSCOM regulations, policies and programs.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience in clerical and administrative support functions related to military and/or civilian personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-08).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
• Knowledge of Civilian Personnel
• Knowledge of Military Personnel
• Skill in Administrative Support Procedures
NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency so long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the series.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
