JOB SUMMARY:

**Work schedule is Mon-Fri, 4 hours daily, start time between 0800 and 1100.**
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
About the Position:This position is located at Fort Shafter, Hawaii which is near the Historical Palm Circle on the island of Oahu and serves as Secretary for the Office of Counsel Division
Serves as Secretary (Office of Automation) with USACE Office of Counsel. You will provide clerical and administrative assistance to the District Counsel and staff.
As America's Engineers in the Pacific, the District's civil works, military construction and environmental missions evolved over time – in periods of peace and war -- for more than 100 years. Today, Honolulu District is a full-service district, well prepared to provide a wide range of timely, effective, innovative solutions to meet our customers' engineering, construction and environmental needs. Honolulu District offers project management, design, construction management, contracting, cost engineering and more. Examples of our Civil Works projects are everywhere in Hawaii and in U.S. Territories in the Pacific, including Guam, American Samoa, Kwajalein and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. Many of our studies and projects are conducted under the Corps' Continuing Authorities Program.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.  Specialized experience is defined as:  demonstrated ability to receive telephone calls and visitors; demonstrated ability to compose and edit various correspondence using MS Word or similar programs; demonstrated ability to use electronic business financial systems and electronic group calendar programs; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain files in accordance with governing regulatory procedures; and demonstrated ability to use office automation to include word processing and spreadsheet tools.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
• Ability to Organize
• Ability to Communicate in Writing
• Ability to Effectively Communicate Orally
• Skill in Office Automation
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-05 grade (or equivalent).
