Responsibilities
•Manage the on-site public relations tactical execution of Aulani PR strategies, with a major focus on Japanese-language media. Position also provides on-site support for US domestic and other international markets.

•PR Representative communicates with DDI Japan in Tokyo to arrange on Aulani site visits, tours and photo shoots for Japanese media (TV, print, online). PR Representative functions in a similar support role for ad hoc domestic media visits.

•In conjunction with the Tokyo-based DDI PR team, PR Representative develops an annual strategic public relations plan with detailed tactical budgets, and submits plan to SATO PR leader and Aulani site leader for review.

•Develops comprehensive on-site individual and group media visit itineraries, by working with resort operations team to plan shooting and tour schedules. Involves booking tables/booking at restaurants, spa, characters photo sessions, location shooting at lobby, guest rooms, pool area, food, gift shops, entertainment, etc. Length of the tours and photo sessions are dependent upon on media type and shots list. Media property visits would be 3 – 6 per month, including media groups or individuals from Japan and the U.S.

•PR Representative develops all broadcast, print and on-line media itineraries in Japanese and submits to DDI Japan to review before distributing it to media.

•PR Representative is required to be on-site during all media visits and activities. Some of this work could occur on weekend or evenings.

•Upon completion of an on-site media visit, PR Representative summits a recap report of the event to DDI Tokyo and the SATO PR leadership. PR Representative is available to follow up with any questions from media or DDI Japan, as needed.

•Develop Japanese-language press kits and press releases as needed; keep current library of all media content at Aulani for distribution to visiting media.

•Provide Japanese-language scripts and talking points for use in media interviews in Japan about Aulani. Also, PR Representative would assist in the development of presentations about Aulani that would be used by DDI Japan for annual media-outreach trips in Japan.

•Identify and develop relationships with Japanese media based in Hawaii, and serve as point of contact for such media.

•Serve as the resource point for all property information listings for Japanese, domestic US and worldwide media; maintains accurate updates for the variety of editorial tour books and work with editors to review entries for accuracy.
Basic Qualifications
•3-5 years in Journalism/Public Relations/Communications
•Bilingual -- Fluent in Japanese (speaking, reading and writing) and English
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills (proven ability of news / journalistic style writing is required.) 
•Experience in arranging multi-location video/ photo shoots and media visits with Japanese crews
•Ability to work with a diverse group of Disney Cast Members and be comfortable communicating effectively with executives
•Ability to work under deadlines with multiple tasks
•Professional, balanced judgment 
•Proven ability to plan, develop and manage special projects
•Strong strategic and tactical communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in hospitality or tourism PR a plus
•Knowledge of the Hawaii tourism industry & Disney brand is a plus
•Knowledge of the travel and/or meetings industry is a plus
•Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Required Education
B.A./B.S. in Journalism/ Communications/English or equivalent
